    Description

    Authentic Navajo traditional design sterling silver 8 concho belt on black leather strap. Very old conchos, late Phase 1 (late 1800's) or early Phase 2 (early 1900's), with slotted oval conchos and copper loops on back to slip leather through. Hand die stamping. Buckle is the same style as the other conchos. The opposite end concho has a rectangular open center, instead of an oval open center as the others, and no copper loops on back. The piece is not stamped, but acid tests show the metal is sterling silver. I purchased the belt in 1969 at the Flagstaff Pow Wow, Flagstaff, Arizona.
